Objectives

A two-day symposium on technical information sharing took place on 8 & 9 May 2014 in Koblenz, Germany at the BfG headquarters.
The overall objective of the symposium was the initiation of a technical dialogue between MRC and CHR/ICPR on key technical questions and approaches regarding the assessment of climate change, its influence on the hydrological regime and consequence impacts on relevant sectors and people in the basin under a transboundary context. These results will lead to the identification of suitable options for climate change adaptation.

OUTPUT

  • Symposium proceedings and lessons learnt
  • Proposals for technical cooperation between MRC and CHR/ICPR on specific technical questions

OUTCOMES

Enhanced understanding on key technical issues related to assessment of climate change (present and future), uncertainties and its impact on water and related sectors
